• Dear Student,

    Welcome to General English 10A

This course will follow the English 10A Merit Curriculum.  It is a smaller class which allows for more teacher assistance to the student with reading and writing skill development.  We will begin by reading the Aretur Miller drama The Crucible.  We will be readng it together in class since it is a play which lends itself well to oral reading.

We will continue to work in the 2200 grammar test and you will be writing a research paper which centers on a relevant social issue or problem.

I'm looking forward to working with you!

    Ms. Berg

  • General English 10B This class is designed to further enhance reading comprehension skills. Assessments over the readings are intended to give students practice with "ACTlike" formats. The comprehension assessments are multiple choice and timed essay writings which require the student to make cross text connections. Additionally, students will continue to work in the 2200 grammar series and develop their skills at determining the meaning of unfamiliar words through the use of context clues.
