ADVANCED COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN

Introduction to Woodworking is designed to introduce students to the concepts, practices, and terminology of basic woodworking. Students will be assigned projects that will incorporate all the essential woodworking skills. Projects are assigned that will incorporate all available machines in the shop. Students will be instructed on their safe operation and be expected to utilize them in the construction of the required projects. Employability skills, including working safely together in a team-oriented environment, will be stressed. Upon entering the class activities for first year students will consist of one small and one medium project.
Advanced Woodworking students (students who have completed one semester of woods) will be intermixed with introductory students. Upon entering the class an advanced class list will be created and sent to the office to allow for advanced woodworking credit. Advanced students will be expected to select and construct an individual project that has been approved by the parent(s) and instructor. The project must incorporate advanced woodworking skills and processes. Employability skills, including working safely together in a team oriented work environment, will be stressed and part of the evaluation process. All projects must be paid for in full before construction begins.
